Hi, my name is Amberly, and I’m the creator of Barrel Dash Spreadsheets.
Horses have been my passion for as long as I can remember, and barrel racing has always held a special place in my heart. I didn’t grow up in a horse family and I had to learn the ins and outs of horse care through experience, determination, and the guidance of some incredible mentors.
Anyone who owns horses and barrel racing knows they aren’t just a tool for us to use; they’re an athlete and some of the best companions. Like any athlete and friend, they deserve the very best care. But the reality is, horses—and the ever-changing barrel racing industry—can be expensive. I needed a way to track my finances so I could budget wisely and ensure my horses always had what they needed. At the same time, I wanted to keep my small farm and business expenses organized for tax season.
That’s when Barrel Dash Spreadsheets was born. I created a simple yet effective way to track my expenses and earnings for each horse—month by month, year by year—without breaking the bank. What started as a tool to help me and my small horse business has grown into something that can help others in the barrel racing industry, giving them confidence in their finances so they can focus on what truly matters: the love of the ride.
